Gate Valves

APPLICATIONS

Gate valves are a type of shut-off valve commonly installed in piping systems or water lines, designed for fully open or fully closed operation. They are used to isolate sections of the system or redirect fluid flow—ideal during maintenance of downstream valves or equipment. Gate valves are particularly suited for both above-ground and underground installations where minimizing pressure loss is essential.

Operation is achieved through a straightforward rotational movement of the stem, causing the valve disc to rise or lower along the stem’s thread. This mechanism enables precise opening or closing of the pipeline as needed.

  • Enhanced safety is achieved through a fully enclosed bonnet gasket and graphite gland packing, providing secure sealing to the atmosphere and preventing joint ring creep (PN 40)
  • Additional blow-out protection and safety are ensured with a standard screwed back seat
  • Reliable, tight shut-off is maintained by extended sealing surfaces, even after regrinding the seat/disc interface
  • The valve offers long service life and high functional reliability thanks to a non-rotating stem with a burnished shank, a hard-faced seat/disc interface made from wear- and corrosion-resistant materials, and standard stellite hardfacing
  • A threaded bush free from non-ferrous metals allows for versatile application
