Manatee Co. Biosolids Plant

Transforming Waste into Green Solutions

Manatee County’s Biosolids Plant transforms waste into valuable resources. This state-of-the-art facility is more than just a treatment plant; it’s a vital part of the county’s commitment to environmental stewardship.

One of the plant’s key operations is the conversion of waste into pelletized fertilizer. This eco-friendly product is then used to nourish public golf courses and common green areas throughout the county. By turning waste into fertilizer, the plant helps to reduce landfill use and promote healthier, greener spaces in our communities.

In addition to producing fertilizer, the facility also plays a crucial role in water conservation. The plant processes up to 26 million gallons per day (mgd) of water for reuse, which is then applied to the same public areas, ensuring that our landscapes remain vibrant while conserving our precious water resources.

The plant’s efficiency is powered by 19 Moyno pumps, which are integral to the operation’s success. These pumps help ensure that the biosolids are processed effectively, supporting the plant’s mission of reducing waste and promoting sustainability.

Through innovative processes and a commitment to environmental responsibility, the Biosolids Plant is a shining example of how communities can turn waste into resources that benefit everyone.
