IMFO® TANKS

Poly has innovated a distinctive system to address the challenges of traditional tank maintenance, particularly dealing with numerous chemicals. The Integrally Molded Flanged Outlet (IMFO®) Tank by Poly Processing presents a solution by incorporating a homogenous flange system directly into the tank during the manufacturing process. This integration ensures that the flange becomes an integral and stress-free component of the tank, as opposed to being an added insert during or after production.

In contrast to some companies that opt for cost-saving measures by creating tanks from one material and adding a metallic flange post-production for drainage and discharge, Poly’s IMFO Tank eliminates the need for such post-production additions. The flange is molded from the same material as the tank itself, offering critical advantages over the common practice of using inserted metallic flanges in the tank industry.

features & Benefits

  • The full tank discharge feature is achieved by placing the flange at the bottom of the sidewall, below the tank knuckle radius. This configuration eliminates the need to enter the tank for cleaning.
  • The tank’s long-term performance and useful life are enhanced as the flange, positioned in this manner, does not compromise the hoop integrity or structural design of the tank.
  • In aggressive oxidation environments, complete protection for the flange face is available with the antioxidant OR-1000™ system, effectively shielding the discharge components from deterioration.
  • The IMFO’s design sets it apart by providing the highest net positive suction head (NPSH) among vertical non-coned tanks available in the market, resulting in the maximum amount of static head pressure.
  • Maintenance requirements are simplified and hassle-free. Unlike metallic inserts, the flange extends away from the tank wall, and the entire flange system is external, allowing easy hardware access from outside the tank.
  • Additionally, there are no concerns about chemical compatibility, as the IMFO system poses no issues encountered with metallic inserts. If a chemical is deemed safe in a crosslinked polyethylene tank, it is equally safe for discharge through the IMFO system.
