Sloped Bottom Vertical Tanks with IMFO®

Conventional tank maintenance poses challenges, especially with various chemicals. To address this, Poly has innovated a distinctive sloped bottom tank system, significantly reducing the risks linked with traditional vertical tank maintenance. The Sloped Bottom Integrally Molded Flanged Outlet tank, known as the IMFO® system, features a flange molded during the tank’s processing, seamlessly integrating it as a stress-free component. The tank’s floor is sloped towards the IMFO, providing users with the most effective full drain system within a vertical tank design.

features & Benefits

  • Efficient Tank Discharge: The flange is positioned at the bottom of the sidewall, below the tank knuckle radius, allowing for full tank discharge without the need to enter the tank for cleaning.
  • Extended Tank Life: The flange’s placement does not compromise the tank’s hoop integrity or structural design, contributing to enhanced long-term performance and a fuller useful life.
  • Corrosion Protection: In aggressive oxidation environments, the complete flange face is shielded by the antioxidant OR-1000™ system, safeguarding discharge components from deterioration.
  • High Static Head Pressure: IMFO® boasts the highest net positive suction head (NPSH) among vertical non-coned tanks, providing superior static head pressure.
  • Simple Maintenance: Any required maintenance is straightforward and hassle-free. The external positioning of the flange, unlike metallic inserts, allows easy hardware access from outside the tank.
  • Chemical Compatibility: IMFO® eliminates chemical compatibility concerns commonly associated with metallic inserts. If a chemical is deemed safe in a crosslinked polyethylene tank, it is equally safe when discharged through the IMFO® system.
